the dungeon design rivals some Zelda games, for god’s sake. This game deserves to be talked about with the all-time greats, and the fact that I hadn’t even heard of the series-let alone this game-until this year is a crime. I usually bounce around games and it’s very rare for me to be completely absorbed and immersed in a game so fully that I can’t play anything else, but that is what has happened. The feeling of sailing around on a ship and seeing all these gorgeously constructed towns, each with their own god damn theme song for the most part (!!!), has been an experience unlike any other. But my god, it’s everything I loved about the first game but turned up to 11. I really didn’t think anything could top the world building, hand-crafted puzzles/dungeons, battle system/djinn system/class depth of the first Golden Sun game, which instantly became an all-time favorite of mine.
